Pictures of my favorite toy!!!!

Today we had a meet-n-greet at the Beacon Drive-In in Spartanburg, SC, with the Carolina PT Cruisers Club.  Sadly, my camera died before I could capture any photos at the Beacon, but I did get some good photos at our meeting at the Flying J and then later at our second stop.  I wish my camera had survived as we had many other PT'ers there at the Beacon, along with some new people we've not met before.

As usual, we had a blast.  It was 9 degrees when I left Lake Norman, down to 7 when I passed through Lincolnton, but got up to the mid-30's at the Beacon.  Still, cold and cold and cold...egads I don't like the cold.  We had a great turnout, and the pictures here just don't do it justice.  Hope you enjoy them.

Our annual Thanksgiving/Christmas parade, November 25, 2008.  I didn't take my normal 100+ photos this year as I brought DEAD BATTERIES...heavy sigh, only got two frames that even show Hailey performing.  Acrofitness starts around picture 45...

Okay, lets see how long this hobby lasts.  Soon as Robin is having to clean this every time it will lkely end.  But, the girls wanted one, so here it is....

It was a blast, big bonfire, lots of food, and great conversations.  So relaxing and so beautiful out in Amish country, just north of Fort Wayne.  Thanks for inviting me, I had a wonderful time!!!

The Carolina PT Cruiser Club had a great showing this year at the Fall Auto Fair.  It was perfect weather, starting out cool and cloudy and turning into sunny and around 90 degrees in the afternoon.  Following the show we gathered at Max & Erma's for dinner, and as always we had a great time.

A personal "Thank You!" to Rick and Susie for putting this all together.  Very well organized, and I really had a blast.  I can't wait to get together for another event with so many nice, fun and like-minded PT Cruiser car enthusiasts!!!

I decided to take some back roads on my way back from Chattanooga and boy was I glad I did. Got to enjoy watching rafters, kayakers and canoists on the Tennessee side of the Blue Ridge, then over the Smokies to watch the same on the North Carolina side.

Was a great trip, well worth the extra hour. Some beautiful photos are here for your viewing pleasure. 

Also, this site is the put-in for the water events at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, which were said to be held in Atlanta, but they didn't have the whitewater for these events so they were held in Tennessee. 

2007 Event at the Bristol Motor Speedway -

Over 2 million lights to gaze at - you start by entering the Bristol Drag Strip, drive around, through and under the displays for about 45 minutes before entering the Bristol Motor Speedway where you get one shot at getting as close to the wall as the lights will allow, and as fast as you can go, barring some goofball in an old pickup who can't go faster than 55.

We took our drive, Hailey and I, with the top down to enjoy all those lights. She screamed the entire lap when we got on the Speedway, but I think I probably was screaming too. Was so steep felt like if you slowed down the car would roll over! And we were in a convertible!

It was a total blast, we stayed one night, toured the Speedway in Lights after meeting a bunch of other PT enthusiasts at Fatz Cafe, then got up Sunday morning and toured Parks Mill, which I will also post pictures of here.

Thanks to Miss B and the Parks family - both days were simply wonderful!

Okay, I'm like way late in posting these, but have been traveling so much that I just haven't had the time to get to them. I'll publish a list of all the attendee's as soon as I can, along with these photos. For now I'm just going to post the photos and hope one of the gang shows up and identifies who are all the people.

Background on this - my dad, Bob Huggins, said his cousin was having a family reunion in Fort Wayne and invited me along. I happened to be over in Chicago and thought, what the heck, if they're related to me they gotta be good folks and I'm bound to have a good time, so over I went, and got to meet a lot of distant relatives and had a blast!!!

I'll jump back in here later on and add more details to these photos, but for now I wanted to get them out here so mainly Annette can tell the rest of the family that I've finally got them up here...har har...

Note to the family - I have resized most of these down to fit here on the web page, but have all the originals in digital format. If you want copies, let me know and I'll make the originals available. Many large chain drug stores with 1 hour printing can now take these from disk and print regular photos from them. If you can't find anyone to do that, let me know and I can also print to photo paper... RobinH.

It's September, and it hasn't rained in quite a while.  Lake Norman, the largest lake in NC, looks like it's drying up.  We've never seen it this low.  I had to move the boat off the lift for fear of it collapsing like it did last year, and this year the water is even lower!!!

Summer, 2007, my darling dearest Susan, again, scored a big touchdown with the house we rented on St. George's Island. This is a small island off of Florida's panhandle, across Appalachicola Bay, in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Wonderful white sand beaches, NO CROWDS, a screened-in swimming pool, about 100 yards off the beach. Fabulous vacation, fabulous 14th anniversary with my wife and family, plus my Dad, Denice, and Susan's Mom all joined us for the fun. Such a great time!

Hailey participates in a fiteness dance/gymnastics organization called Acrofitness. They travel around and perform in parades, at half-time events, etc. These are photos of their events from 2004 on.
